Better Visual Experience You Should Not Miss in ZWCAD 2021

ZWCAD 2021 Official has recently come out. Apart from keeping faith to speed, we’ve optimized its display effects so that users can have a better visual and design experience. Why not join me and explore these enhancements? (Pay attention because free licenses are up for grabs!)

Well-Proportioned Interface on a 4K Screen

While it’s all well and good to use a faster CAD program on a bigger computer display, we’ve received feedback on the display effects with increasing frequency. I must say, your comments drove the development of ZWCAD. And there you go—our assiduous R&D team has upgraded the graphic engine and improved the visuals in ZWCAD 2021!

If you’ve used the predecessors of ZWCAD on a 4K monitor and are observant, you’ll notice a difference right off the bat. After you’ve launched ZWCAD 2021, you’ll find that the items in the Properties panel, Toolbar, etc. are now adaptive to the display resolutions of the computer. No more frowning upon a cramped interface, yay!

Smoother Selection at 4K Resolutions

Another thing that you might’ve noticed on a 4K screen before is that there was a lag between your mouse movements and object selection. It was without a doubt impeding free-flowing designs. Fortunately, the efficiency of selecting objects in ZWCAD 2021 has been greatly improved. Seeing is believing, check out the comparison below!

Get Rid of Overlaps with Transparency

Objects like images, hatches, PDF underlays are useful design elements, but they can be blocking others. In this context, the Transparency feature has been added to this new version. Now, you can specify the transparency value (integers ranging from 0 to 90) of not only individual objects, but also all objects in a single layer. As a result, you’ll have a clearer view of your drawing.

If you’re adjusting the transparency of an object, just invoke the Properties panel and change the value in the corresponding row. Likewise, edit the transparency value in the corresponding column in the Layer Properties panel to modify the transparency of a layer. You can also access the Transparency function in the Hatch dialogue box.

Watch the video below and learn how to make overlapping design elements visible!

What’s more, there are 3 transparency-related system variables that you should know:

  1. TRANSPARENCYDISPLAY determines whether the transparency effects are visible or not.
  2. HPTRANSPARENCY determines the default transparency for new hatches.
  3. CETRANSPARENCY determines the default transparency for new objects.

Although it’s not sure that better display effects will help with the final design output, they are still very important in boosting your design process, like helping quickly snap special points, correctly display complicated objects, etc. From my perspective, designing in a good mood counts as one of the most vital reasons why (probably the most vital one, XD) we need better display effects.

All in all, if you’ve got a 4K monitor, by all means reward yourself with a smoother design experience in ZWCAD 2021! Plus, you can win free 180-day licenses by simply opening a drawing in it!
